Leaving school is a big transition, and knowing what comes next can feel overwhelming. Mind & Body Support provides personalised School Leaver Employment Supports in Melbourne to help young people with disability build the skills, confidence and independence needed for life beyond school.
Whether your goal is paid employment, volunteering, work experience or further training, we provide practical support based on your strengths, interests and abilities. From developing workplace skills to gaining real-world experience, we'll work alongside you as you take the next steps towards greater independence.

Finishing school doesn’t mean you need to have your future figured out straight away.
For some young people with disability, moving from the familiar structure of school into employment, training or adult life can involve learning an entirely new set of skills. This might include communicating in a workplace, travelling independently, following instructions, managing time or simply becoming comfortable in an unfamiliar environment.
Our School Leaver Employment Supports focus on preparing you for what’s next.
We can help you explore your strengths and interests, identify meaningful employment goals and gradually develop the practical skills you need to participate more independently in the workplace and community.
The goal isn’t simply to find you a job. It’s to help you develop the confidence, skills and experience to prepare for, find and maintain meaningful employment.

School Leaver Employment Supports, commonly known as SLES, are designed to support young people with disability as they transition from school towards employment.
SLES can provide individualised work readiness support focused on developing the practical and personal skills needed to participate in employment, work experience, volunteering or further training.
Depending on your individual goals and support needs, this could involve developing workplace communication, learning how to manage routines, preparing a resume, practising interviews, gaining work experience or becoming more confident travelling to and from work.
At Mind & Body Support, SLES isn’t a one-size-fits-all employment program.
Your support is shaped around where you are now and where you’d like to go next.
Our SLES Melbourne support can focus on the areas that are most important to your individual employment goals.

Leaving school is a major transition, and preparing for employment involves more than learning how to write a resume or apply for a job. At Mind & Body Support, we help young people build the practical skills, confidence and independence they can use across work and everyday life.
Our School Leaver Employment Supports can focus on workplace communication, time management, following routines, travelling to and from work, problem-solving and building confidence in new environments. Support is tailored to each participant’s strengths, interests and employment goals, helping them take meaningful steps towards work, further training, volunteering or greater independence in the community.
There isn't one pathway that works for every school leaver. Our SLES support starts with understanding you — your interests, strengths, goals, support needs and the pace that feels right for you.
We explore the industries, activities and types of work you genuinely enjoy or would like to learn more about, helping you discover employment pathways that feel meaningful and engaging.
We identify the abilities, qualities and skills you already have and explore how these strengths may translate into practical workplace skills and different employment opportunities.
Your goal might be paid employment, volunteering, work experience, vocational training or further education. We shape your support around what you want to achieve and the pathway you would like to explore.
Together, we can identify the areas where additional coaching, practice or assistance may help you build confidence, develop new skills and participate more independently.
Developing workplace skills takes time. We support you to progress at a pace that reflects your individual abilities, confidence and needs rather than expecting everyone to follow the same timeline.
Success after school doesn’t look the same for everyone. We can help participants explore different pathways depending on their interests, abilities and goals.
Build the skills, confidence and experience needed to prepare for suitable paid employment and work towards maintaining employment over time.
Experience real workplaces, practise employment skills and explore different industries before deciding which direction you'd like to pursue.

Build the independence, organisation and confidence needed to explore TAFE, vocational training or other learning opportunities that may support your future employment goals.

Through SLES and employment-related support, participants may have opportunities to build confidence, independence, communication, organisation and other practical skills that can support everyday life as well as future employment.
